WHY IT MATTERS
Myopia often gets worse as kids grow.
Nearsightedness usually starts in childhood and can increase every year. Higher myopia raises the risk of eye problems later in life, so slowing it early matters.
Signs to watch: squinting, sitting close to screens, headaches or trouble seeing the board.

VISION THERAPY FOR KIDS
When reading is harder than it should be.
Some kids pass a school vision screening but still struggle to read, focus or keep their place. Vision therapy is a personalized, in-office program of guided eye exercises that trains the eyes to team, focus and track together, the skills reading and learning depend on. It starts with a vision therapy evaluation with our optometrist.
Signs to watch: skipping lines or losing their place, headaches or tired eyes during homework, double vision, covering one eye, or avoiding reading.

Good questions
Do you take my insurance?
We accept EyeMed, VSP, Spectera, Davis Vision, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare and more. We don’t accept Medicaid. Add your plan when you book.
How soon can I be seen?
We offer same or next-day appointments. Book online or call 214-651-1000.
¿Hablan español?
Sí. Nuestro equipo habla español.
Is a school vision screening enough?
A screening can miss problems. A full eye exam checks your child’s vision and eye health.
Can myopia be slowed?
Yes. Options like MiSight 1 day lenses and Ortho-K are designed to slow myopia. Your doctor will recommend what fits your child.
What is vision therapy?
A personalized, in-office program of guided eye exercises that trains the eyes to work together, focus and track. It helps kids whose eyes see clearly but don’t team up well, which can make reading and schoolwork harder.
Is vision therapy the same as glasses?
No. Glasses and contacts sharpen focus. Vision therapy builds eye teaming, focusing and tracking skills. Some kids need both, and an evaluation tells us which.
